Privacy Policy.

What we collect, what we do with it, and what we deliberately don’t keep.

1. Our approach

An AI companion holds personal things, so privacy is part of how Simonina is built, not an afterthought. The short version: your companion remembers you, but we don’t treat your conversations as an archive to keep and mine, and we don’t use them to train our AI. The sections below explain what that means in practice, what we collect, and the choices and rights you have.

2. Who this applies to

This policy covers the personal information we handle when you use Simonina — our websites, apps, and companions (the “Service”) — as the party responsible for that information (the “controller” under laws like the GDPR). It applies alongside our Terms of Service.

3. Information we collect

  • Account information — what you give us to sign up and sign in, such as your email address and authentication details.
  • Profile details — things like your name, preferred language, and any bio you choose to add, so your companion knows how to address you.
  • Your companions and content — the companions you create or customize, and the messages and any images you exchange with them.
  • Usage and device information — limited technical data needed to run, secure, and improve the Service, such as device and browser type, approximate location from your IP address, and basic activity logs.
  • Payment information — if you subscribe, our payment processor handles your card details; we receive confirmation and limited billing information, not your full card number.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 12.

4. How your conversations are handled

To make a companion that remembers without drifting, Simonina distills what matters from your conversations — the people, the milestones, the relationship as it grows — and carries that forward as your companion’s memory. The verbatim message log is not something we hold onto as a long-term archive. And, to be unambiguous: we do not use your conversations to train our AI models.

5. How we use information

  • to provide the Service — generate replies and keep your companion’s memory consistent;
  • to operate your account, process subscriptions, and provide support;
  • to keep the Service secure, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms;
  • to understand how the Service is used so we can improve it (in aggregate, not by mining your chats);
  • to comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t trade it.

6. The legal bases we rely on

Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we process your information on these bases:

  • To perform our contract with you — running your account and providing the Service you asked for.
  • Your consent — for the intimate, personal content you share with a companion, and for any optional features you switch on. You can withdraw consent at any time, which stops the related processing going forward.
  • Our legitimate interests — keeping the Service secure, preventing abuse, and improving it, balanced against your rights.
  • Legal obligations — where the law requires us to keep or disclose certain information.

7. AI processing and service providers

Generating a companion’s replies requires sending your messages to AI inference providers, and we rely on trusted infrastructure providers to host data and run the Service. These providers act as our processors under agreements that limit how they may use your information, process it only on our instructions, and don’t get to use it for their own purposes. We choose them carefully and share only what’s needed to make the Service work.

8. When we share information

We share information only in limited cases: with the service providers described above; when required by law or to respond to valid legal process; to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service; or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition, with notice where required. We never sell your data.

9. Data retention and deletion

We keep account information for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual companions or your whole account, and we’ll delete the associated personal data, except where we’re required to keep certain records (for example, for legal, security, tax, or billing reasons). Residual copies may persist in routine backups for a limited time before they’re overwritten.

10. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

If you are a resident of California or another U.S. state with a privacy law (such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, or Utah), you have rights to know what we collect, to access and delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information or of targeted advertising. We don’t sell or share your personal information in that sense, and we won’t discriminate against you for exercising your rights. To exercise any of these, contact us at [email protected]; we’ll verify your request and respond within the time the law allows.

11. A note on sensitive information

Simonina isn’t designed to collect government-issued ID numbers, financial account numbers, health records, or similar highly sensitive details, and you don’t need to share them to use the Service. Please don’t put that kind of information into a conversation with a companion.

12. Cookies and similar technologies

We use only the cookies and similar technologies needed to sign you in, remember your preferences, and keep the Service secure. We don’t use them for third-party advertising. Where the law requires consent for non-essential cookies, we’ll ask for it; you can also control cookies through your browser settings.

13. Security

We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest and access controls that limit who can reach it. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat the sensitivity of this data as a first-order responsibility, and we design for it from the start.

14. Children

Simonina is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from people under 18; if we learn that we have, we’ll delete it. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us at [email protected].

15. International users and data transfers

Simonina may be operated from, and use providers in, countries other than your own, including the United States. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we take the steps required by applicable law to protect it, such as using recognized safeguards like Standard Contractual Clauses. If you are in the EEA or UK, you may contact us for more about these safeguards.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. If we make material changes, we’ll let you know through the Service or by email, and we’ll update the date below. The version published here is the one that applies.
